panic attack
Elvis asked:

My mom is coming to pick me up and I get panic attacks and extreme anxiety anticipating that I have to kiss and hug her when she arrives. I am scared of getting oral herpes and this will give me a panic attack if her lips come near mine. Any advice and please refraim from scarsam remarks as I can’t control why I feel this way. Thanks

Does she have herpes? Then don’t kiss her. She shouldn’t be kissing you!

just HUG her in front of people, and tell her you’re growing up. That’s why youre kissing her on the cheek

Why on earth would you feel like that about ur mom. Does she have soars around her mouth, and how old are you? Just hug her and tell her that you feel that you are becoming to old to kiss her in public and it embarasses you now. She will be a little hurt, but we ALL go through THAT stage. now the other thing idk y u fell like that. It’s a little odd tho. Maybe there is something else you can think of. I have panic attacks too, whenever i know i have to pick my husband up from work, or he comes to get me. Any time we are separated the return is terrible for me. I know unfortunately why i feel the way i do. Maybe once you find out why you have that fear, then you can start to confront your attacks. I know it’s long, but I hope that it helps you.

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI – Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There’s this herb called St John’s Wort – it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John’s Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.
If you’re unable to take St John’s Wort, you can substitute it with Siberian Ginseng or Licorice Herb.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced… you have that learned behavior in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior – Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction… There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to….

If this is a panic attack because of a logical reason such as SHE HAS ORAL HERPES then don’t kiss her.
